Incoming Freshman Parents (current 8th graders),
Are you interested in finding out more information about your athlete playing Freshman Football at Mount Si High School in the fall? If so, then please follow the links below to register to receive some information. This does not sign your son up for football and does not require him to participate, it simply registers you to receive pertinent information for the Freshman Football Program.
Mount Si High School Freshman Football
Registration helps us communicate with you about the things you need to know about Freshman Football. Actual football registration will not take place until later on in the year. Pre-clearance packets are due in early June (no payment at that time), and payment for football is due to the school in the fall.
Your player has up until mid-August to decide if he would like to play. Before that time he can test the waters and participate in all of the winter/spring off season activities, even summer camp and still opt not to play if he decides high school football is not right for him; meanwhile we will keep you informed. Grades
Let your player know that grades for the 3rd trimester of the 8th grade year count for eligibility for football at the high school. If he wants to participate in a fall sport at the high school, keep those grades up!
Freshman Spring Camp
This camp is held in June. Parents are responsible for transportation. Click here for more details.
Summer Weight Room
All freshman players will be expected to be in the weight room working out throughout the summer unless you are out of town. Players are expected to make it 3-5 times weekly during the summer until football starts.
Summer Speed Camp
Held in late June, July, and early August - dates will be posted on the calendar as soon as finalized. The camp meets twice weekly until football practice starts. All football players are expected to participate in speed camp unless out of town.
Summer Freshman Football Camp
This camp is held in July - dates to be announced. The camp is one week long in the evenings.
Freshman Football Practice
Starts Mid-August and runs daily M-F, once a day for freshman (sophomores and up practice twice daily and on Saturdays; freshman do not).
Annual Scarlet and Gray Game
Held in late August; date to be announced. The freshman team will scrimmage the sophomore players.
Freshman Games
Freshman games are held on Wednesday nights, typically at 6pm. The Freshman schedule will not be out until the first week of school. It is the last schedule to be worked out among the athletic directors. For away games, bus transportation is provided to and from the game, and all players must ride the bus both ways. Game will be once weekly through end of October.
