Number of Years Coaching:  4th year coaching football, all at Mt Si. Previously coached Defensive Backs as well.

Player Career: Played high school football at Mt Si as a Wide Receiver and Cornerback. 

Major Achievements in Football:  3 year varsity letterman as a player, played on 2012 team that was 11-2 and made it to state semifinals, 18-1 record as JV head coach, coached Cornerbacks in 2023 Cleats vs. Cancer All-Star high school football game, head coach of Mt Si Girls 7 on 7 Flag Football Team.

Coaching philosophy: My coaching philosophy as an offensive play caller is to take advantage of what a defense is giving us, exploit mismatches, and do what it takes to win each game. Every game is different, and you must be adaptable to the kind of game that is unfolding.

Randy Griffin

Player Career: Played at Redmond high school 1972-75

Major Achievements in Football: Was able to coach in the Tacoma Dome

Jean Hillel

Varsity - Technology & HUDL Specialist
Played 7 years, coaching for 25+years and won 1 championships (1 Quebec and 1 Capital HS in Olympia WA). Coaching with MSHS for the past 7 years and the past 5 years my role is film manager, it includes (but not limited to): coordination of the video crew (7 Cameramen), Hudl manager (for rosters, coaches, playbook, game/practice schedule, etc.), managing team video in Hudl (all practices, games and opponent scout, post game posting cut game film for coaches use), maintain our 5 IP cameras systems at MSHS Stadium operational.

Brian Tawney

Freshman Head Coach

Entering his 9th Year coaching at Mt. Si, Brian graduated from Eastlake high school in 1996 and then spent 6 years in the Navy. He then walked on and played Outside Linebacker at the University of Washington where he lettered twice and won scout player of the week twice (vs. Oregon and Washington State) as well as Tyee Council Award for community outreach.
 
He helped coach football at Chief Kanim during the 07 season and at Twin Falls the 09 season before moving up to the high school level where he is now the head coach of the Freshmen football team. “I just want to thank the staff here for giving me an opportunity to coach and give back to a game that has given me so much.”

Ralph Riden

Freshman  - Offensive Line Coach/Assistant Defensive Line
Coach Riden has been in public education for 40 plus years. During that time he has held a variety of positions. He was a teacher and coach for eleven years before deciding to become an administrator.  He was a building principal and a district level administrator in both the Vancouver, Washington and Beaverton, Oregon school districts. This is his fourteenth year of coaching football, most recently at Auburn Riverside High School. He has also been an assistant basketball coach and head baseball coach at the high school level. Coached Riden received his Bachelors Degree from Washington State University, his Masters from Lewis and Clark College, and his Administrative Credentials from Portland State University. He has two grown sons who were high school athletes One played football at the collegiate level. His wife Marlene and he recently moved to the Snoqualmie area where his older son and family live as well.
